Classic Planet of the Month: Planet of Omega

Pending – this article will appear this weekend! appear at some point, once I figure out the difference between Quad magnetism and Quasi-magnetism (and do they both shield anti-matter?)  Hmmm…

Mars and beyond

Last week, Google introduced a new beta version of Google Earth called 4.2.

Features include being able to watch the skies (link) - the whole cosmos.

Although that is recent innovation, Google’s maps of the planet Mars have been around for a while.

However, here’s a specific link I’ve created to the Cydonia area of Mars – the real-life Pyramids of Mars (link).

Happy exploring!

So long…

As noted previously on the blog, Douglas Adams was writer or co-writer of three Doctor Who stories, and Script Editor for the whole of Season 17.

Although dolphins don’t feature prominently in Doctor Who, they do in another Science Fiction universe: Douglas Adams’s The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

The Yangtze River/Baiji Dolphin has now been declared extinct.

The flying squid blog discusses Douglas Adams’s 1992 book, Last Chance to See, which mentions the (then) almost-extinct Baiji.
